Tennis Courts - Rules of Use
1.0 General Information
1.1 The tennis courts are for use by members of the Forest Glade Estates Homeowners Association (members). Only Forest Glade residents and their immediate family and guests may use the tennis courts, so long as the resident’s homeowners dues are current. All members are expected to follow the association’s rules and to ensure that others do the same.
1.2 Any unauthorized persons seen using the tennis courts should be asked to leave by Forest Glade residents. If asked to identify yourself as an owner or a guest, please do so courteously.
1.3 Access to the tennis courts is protected by a combination lock. If you forget the combination, ask any board member for it. If the combination is changed for any reason, all members will be provided with the new combination.
1.4 Members must ensure when using the tennis courts that no damage occurs to the court surface. Members will be responsible for any damage that they or their guests cause.
2.0 Prohibited Items
2.1 Only tennis shoes shall be worn on any part of the courts at all times. Shoes with dark and/or hard soles, including athletic shoes, are not permitted under any circumstances. Members must ensure that their guests observe this rule.
2.2 No food, beverage, or smoking will be permitted within the court fence.
2.3 A player’s behavior and language shall be above reproach when using the courts. Loud or obscene language will not be tolerated. Any deviation from this standard will result in the player being removed from the courts.
3.0 Tennis Court Usage
3.1 The courts must only be used to play tennis with appropriate tennis equipment.
3.2 Play will be on a first come, first served basis for a period of one hour. If no one is waiting for a court, players may continue to play tennis in one-half hour increments.
3.3 The courts are available for use from 8 a.m. to dark.
3.4 No members of a single household and/or their guests shall occupy both courts, simultaneously, if other members are waiting to play.
4.0 Guests
4.1 Guests shall be accompanied by a member at all times when using the courts.
4.2 Members are responsible for their guests’ behavior. All guests must follow the association’s rules.
5.0 Miscellaneous
5.1 As parking near the tennis courts is limited, players should walk to the courts whenever possible. Please park only in authorized areas. Do not drive on the fire access road or bicycle path.
5.2 For safety purposes, spectators should remain outside the court fence.
5.3 Abuse of these rules shall result in forfeiture of all tennis privileges for the member, as well as the member’s family and guests, for a period of six weeks. Repeat violations will lead to lengthier and possibly permanent forfeitures, as decided on a case-by-case basis. Residents should promptly report violations to any board member.
5.4 Remember that the tennis courts are owned and maintained by the residents of Forest Glade Estates. Let’s do our best to protect and respect them.
